A Palestinian source told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Cairo will host a delegation from the Hamas movement next week to push forward the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The source, who is close to Hamas, explained that the anticipated visit will address the provisions of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, most notably the approval of the names of the Gaza Strip Administration Committee (technocrats), with the aim of advancing the implementation stages of the agreement.
In the same context, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted on refusing to open the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt until the return of the body of the last Israeli captive in the Strip, Ran Gvili, thereby violating the agreement, which stipulated opening the crossing during the first phase.
