The Prisoners’ Media Office announced the martyrdom of Palestinian prisoner Hamza Adwan (67 years old) from the Gaza Strip inside Israeli prisons, as a result of deliberate medical neglect and harsh detention conditions.

The office stated that the occupation authorities informed the martyr’s family that his death occurred on September 9, 2025, without providing any information or details. It added that Adwan was arrested on November 12, 2024. He was married and the father of nine children, two of whom were martyred before the war. He suffered from chronic illnesses, most notably heart disease, and was in urgent need of medical care and continuous follow-up, which was not provided.

With his martyrdom, the number of identified martyrs from the Palestinian prisoners’ movement since the war of genocide has risen to 87, who died as a result of torture, starvation, and medical neglect, in addition to systematic policies of abuse and deprivation inside Israeli prisons.
