The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the so-called “Israel Land Authority” is planning to build 1,400 settlement units on the land where the UNRWA headquarters was located, which was demolished earlier today in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated that the demolition operations constitute a direct targeting of a UN agency that enjoys international legal immunity, especially as the occupation forces lowered the United Nations flag and raised the Israeli flag inside the compound, under the pretext of lack of permits, in a blatant violation of the sanctity of international institutions.
