The Israeli occupation has terminated the activities of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) in the Gaza Strip and ordered the organization to leave the territory by February 28, a move that undermines a vital part of the medical and humanitarian services provided to the population amid the widespread collapse of the health system.

The decision, issued by Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, was justified by claims that the organization failed to submit lists of its Palestinian staff— a requirement the occupation authorities have imposed on all humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza. MSF stated that the decision falls within a broader pattern of pressure, intimidation, and smear campaigns targeting relief organizations working in Gaza and the West Bank, aimed at restricting their operations and reducing their capacity to deliver life-saving medical care.

MSF warned that preventing it from continuing its work would deprive hundreds of thousands of Palestinians of medical care and water, noting that its services in Gaza alone reach around half a million people. The organization called on Israeli authorities to reverse the decision and ensure operating conditions that respect international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
